Distribution Pipeline and Pump Stations
Project type
Rural Water Pipeline
Date
2015-2022
Location
North Dakota
Role and Responsibilities
Construction Services Representative
Daily tasks included ROW negotiations and coordination, field staking, material inspection, as-built data collection, and field reports. I provided Engineers and Owners with daily/weekly/monthly progress updates, developed production reports to track contractor material installations, and also field logs for "Work in Progress". Perform all punchlist inspections, substantial and final completion issuance and recommendations, and gather necessary closing documentation for Owner.
I have observed the installation of more than 750 miles of pipeline (1"-36") via plowing, trenching, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD). In addition to pipelines, I've overseen the installation of dozens of pump stations for regional systems, rural water districts, and municipalities. Projects ranged from new systems complete with pump stations and reservoirs to improvement projects where users are added to an existing system. I've also worked on several pipeline relocations due to new developments and highway re-alignments. Challenges encountered on rural water pipelines are often driven by end user and landowner concerns or issues. Proper reclamation of disturbed lands is a top priority. Early communication and follow through are keys to success on any remote, rural linear project.
