Installation of new process train equipment (mixers, lamella plate settlers, polymer injection skid, chemical delivery system, measurement instrumentation), precast walls and roof, MEP work on entire building, and several misc. improvements within water treatment plant. Project challenged due to time lapse between phases. Partial equipment installation in previous phases prevented system startup, starting equipment from previous phases presented contractual challenges for remediation of work along with COVID creating material delivery issues. Change management became a priority that required intense budget and cost reporting to keep owner informed of continuous change. Solutions to these challenges were early contractor involvement, creating potential changes orders for discussion and review, monitoring near critical activity inventory, and early budget proposals for changes. Keeping a log of these items and providing it to the owner regularly provided candid, yet difficult conversations at the forefront that aided in tough decisions that moved the project to completion.
